"This is the deserted Morley gas station - it’s about 20 miles outside Banff National Park. As a kid, I must have driven past it 100 times on family road trips, and every single time - I wondered what went wrong.  For some reason it shut down without warning in the early 1980’s and apparently, nobody has seen the proprietress since.  Last summer we decided to photograph it for nostalgia sake; when we got to the site it was eerie, serene, and beautiful.  Coyotes howled in the distance, smoke from a nearby forest fire made the sky glow, and the wind whistled through the trees in a way that made you think you heard a ghost.  This will always be one of my favourite photographs...”
